(24-28 May 2010) & (31 May-4 June 2010)

In health care, medical imaging is one of the most important devices for medical purposes especially during the diagnosis stage. Medical imaging is the technique and process used to create images of the human body (or parts and function thereof) for clinical purposes (medical procedures seeking to reveal, diagnose or examine disease) or medical science (including the study of normal anatomy and physiology). In frost, medical imaging is rather one of the important research that done for the customer to help client to know more about the insights and market of the devices.

my job is to do research on the medical devices on how each devices operates and how they actually used the technology trend applied in the electronic devices.

it was quite a challenging work as this is my first time facing all this medical devices term.

26-30 April 2010

Finally the SMBG project for Malaysia is over. This week I have been assigned a new task. I need to call china company to set up an interview sessions with them. It was kind a tough work as the CEO of the company is usually busy and we need to keep trying to in contact with them to get an interview from them. the challenge is that CEO always has tight schedule.

Before doing the call, I have to do some research about the company so that I will have more info about the company.

19-22 April 2010

This week I will be doing research base work. I have been assigned to handle secondary research for SMBG Malaysia (Self-monitoring blood glucose market). The purpose of this research is to help client to investigate the market trend of self-monitoring blood glucose devices. There are few criteria for this research which is drivers, restraints, market trend, future trend and government initiative.

The drivers are what cause the increase/decrease of diabetes. What are the drivers that drive the trend of diabetes? Restraints are what cause the drivers to happen. And market trend is the prevalence and incident rate of diabetes in the society. Future trend would be the future technology that will be used to drive this diabetes and what new technology has been invented to cure this sickness. Government initiative is effort from the government in promoting the awareness of diabetes.

From this research, I realize that Malaysia has a really high prevalence and incidents rate of diabetes patients. In Malaysia, an estimated 1.33 million suffer from diabetes, of which more that half are not aware that they have the disease.

Besides doing this research, I also need to do some translation work from English to Chinese for the questionnaire that be used during the interview with some china company.

so that's mean we will be going back to our own desk and start on my task given by my supervisors. my first task is that i was given a topic of research title and i need to search for journals, articles, or mayb books and look for the suitable one and write a report about it.

the clients are given some specific instructions for us to follow on and we need to find according to the specification. my supervisor taught me how to start and given me good advise how to do it.

aside from work, during lunch we went for a indian restaurant for buffet with some of my colleagues. they are friendly to invite us over lunch and it was a big group. it was a good experience in meeting up different people in work and getting know different kind of people and how you communicate with them.

these two days are pretty the same. we are still undergoing our training session with all the other new employee. but things are getting tough. we have to go through some practice on how to communicate with clients. we have a mock calls and we are required to call some company to request for an interview from that particular person. its tough cause they will have different kind of problems encounter and we have to use the correct way to solve it. and this is very useful as it taught me how to communicate well. everyone does a great job and learn from mistakes.
